Refurbishing a Transom assembly??? NOW with pics and Video...

I need a question answered. I was thinking of pulling the gimbal and transom assembly and trying to clean it up and re-paint it, but the corrossion is pretty bad. I've seen some project boats and such on Craigslist and am wondering if I'd be better off getting a non-corroded Alpha one outdrive and transom assembly and just re-building the whole mess, or at least using the non-corroded transom assembly and attaching the new SE 106 outdrive to it???

Well, that would depend on how corroded all that stuff is. If it's bad, I would just replace it. If the drive is so badly corroded that it cannot be rebuilt, I would get an SEI....

Ok, finally got some time to post a picture and some videos. The corrosion issue is what I'm most concerned about and whether I should go with media blasting my current transom assembly, priming and painting it, and installing a NEW SE 106 outdrive... Or should I just scrap this transom assembly and find a donor boat with a non-corroded assembly and Alpha one outdrive and re-build the whole mess like new??? Thanks, pics and video below...
