While under power and running "fairly" good noticed that the amp meter was under 12volts and engine started sputtering and died. Opened up the engine and noticed the orange wire on the alternator had corroded off. Quickly repaired the wire but couldn't get the boat to start and lost all power to the main fuse panel and ignition switch. According to Mecruiser 5.0 manual there is a circuit breaker somewhere in line but I can't find one anywhere. Checked the 90amp fuse at solenoid and it has continuity. I have been looking for either an in-line fuse or circuit breaker but no luck.

That gauge is a VOLTMETER not an AMMETER. Voltmeters measure voltage. Ammeters measure amps. Put your hand on the large positive battery cable where it attaches at the engine. There is likely a circuit breaker of fuse in another smaller wire connected at the same point.

don't i wish there was but there is not where the 4AWG breaks into the smaller wires which are then routed via the large main DIN plug on the top behind the carb and almost opposite of the distributor.
