Register Homemade boat in WI

Hello all has anyone registered a home made boat in WI and knows what forms I need to get a hull ID? I have a homemade pontoon that I would like to put a motor on...but need to register it for that...

walk into your local DNR office. I found that to be best. The best one I have had luck with is the one Brown County.

Check with the Wisconsin DNR . . . it appears that the state will assign you a HIN . . . the Pre-fix will be "WSZ"

DNR reps at the service center on Rib Mountain Drive have been helpful to me.

Avoid the Milwaukee office.

You will need a list of materials used and receipts for supplies used.

agreed, avoid Milwaukee and Waukesha

Two Rivers is hit-or miss with the staff.

Ok DNR said..
