Registration on my boat question

Hey guys I need help on my first boat

I'm from Ohio and I bought a 14ft aluminum boat I think it's a 1973 seaking and I got a registration and a bill of sale, now I need to get a new HIN # because the old one is worn out for being so old and the officers said at the inspection place said I can't get it registered intill I get a HIN number....so I had to get it inspected and they told me bad news that i had to call michagan DNR and ask for a statement of no title do u no what that is ???? Can anyone help me please

Also they said I had to print out some forum online and send them to a place in michagan so they can do a search ???????help lol

I take it that the boat was originally titled in Michigan? What they are trying to do, IMO, is they want to do a title search on the boat to see if it is clear (liens, correct boat, stolen, etc. etc.). You are going to have to contact the Michigan DNR to set it straight.

Yes I got it in michagan and took it to Ohio
