Get the OEM "triple guard Grease"...it's waterproof! I guess all grease is waterproof, but TGG is designed not to breakdown as quickly.

Any Grease Beats No Grease! I Have Used A Marine Grade Grease In My Lower Unit And Have Had No Problems.

Use marine grease.
It's cheap - Walmart carries it.

I prefer the Triple-Guard Grease - I would not use anything else around salt water.

If you buy the 14 Oz. tube for your grease gun it should last you a season or more - part # 0775776.

As long as you remove the prop and grease the shaft once a year, regular wheel bearing grease works just fine. I used it on my sterndrive, which stayed submerged in saltwater all year (Mar-Dec) and never had an issue. If you do not plan to regrease each spring, use the marine grease.

Thanks for the good advice. Just came from Walmart. They had everything I needed. I love that place! They and McDonalds seem to be the only ones posting gains these days.
