I bought a 1990 Reinell 191 BRXL that had sunk. It felt heavy so I cut 2 holes in the floorboards on either side of the engine. It was full of water which I have drained. That was 6 years ago. It still felt heavy so this spring I finally took it over a scale and it is about 1000 to 1200 lbs over what it should be. Any ideas on where it could still be holding water?
Thanks

The hull should be filled with foam under the floor, this foam will absorb water and never dry out.

I've seen them go as much as 800 lbs in wet foam, but never that much....however never restored one that was completly sunk for a while. So refer to post 2.

Then get ready to remove some foam...good luck

100+ Gallons of Water !!! in a 19'er .. wow..

When doing your calcs for weight of the boat..did you subtract the weight of the trailer ( if your doing dry weigh of the boat only ). Just wondering because that mistake has been done before..drilling holes ..removing through hulls to see if core is wet..etc. just to have some smart guy in the shop ask " if the trailer weight was factored in " .. DOH .

Just wondering...
