Reitterating on my pics

I FINALLY figured out a way to post my pics...altho I have to post them one at a time since the instructions elsewhere in this forum for Photobucket aren't that good....sorry. For example....what is the "clipboard"? Even once you've clicked on the "img" link, what do u do from there?? It doesn't automatically copy pics over to anywhere 'cept your online photo album and even then, the "manage attachments" box can't find the dam files for "url", so y bother? Either I'm doing something wrong or it just don't work as instructed. So anyway, I got them figured out, however I'm gonna have to post an additional 3 posts to get all the pics in. I've got one posted at "looking for opinions" in "boat topics and questions" and am posting another one here, then the last two after this one. Please give me opinions whether negative or postive. Thanks

Once you have your pictures in Photobucket, click on the IMG link (it will say copied). Then go back to iBoats and do Control+V (paste). The link appears but when you click "submit" the picture appears.

Ok....here is the last pic of my "freebie" Starcraft 190 Series Bowrider. I now have a 'Rude 85 hp on it. I would very much appreciate any and all opinions either positive or negative on this particular watercraft. Also, I've heard the term "bow swamping" and I'd like to know what this is....and what the result is if it happens. I live on Cape Cod which is surrounded by ocean. LOTS of great fishing within 5-10 miles offshore. I've heard that open bow boats are not the greatest for ocean fishing but are ok in a bay area. My opinion is, unless the boat is 50' or longer, it's best to be able to see land W/OUT the use of binoculars, if you wanna be reasonably safe. Several areas here have strong rip currents and breakwaters. Anyway....please have a look/see at my pics and let me know what I should do or look for on this boat to make it "seaworthy". The hull seems good and sound (solid thump when fist is tapped on hull), transom is solid, everything looks to be in good shape. Any pointers anyone has would be great too!! Thanks everyone!!

I like the look of that boat. Good lines. Is Starcraft owned by Brunswick? The gauges look like 80's Bayliner stuff, and the general layout reminds me of my Maxum.

Starcraft always has made good boats. They really specialized in aluminum boats but their fiberglass line was good.

The 85 is just about as bulletproof an engine as you will find. With some maintenance and care, it will run forever. Do this.

1. Get a manual.

2. Get a manual.

3. Replace the water pump.

4. Rebuild the carburetors and fuel pump.

5. Use only the correct Champion spark plugs.

6. Decarb the engine. See "Decarbing your engine" in engine FAQ's.

7. Change the lower unit gear lube. Replace the fill/drain plug seals.

8. Prop it to turn at least 5500 RPM with a moderate/light load.

That 19' is a bit heavy for an 85 but propped right, it will perform OK. I would guess a 13 1/4" X 15" prop would be just about right.

The safety of the boat is up to the operator. I've been 20 miles out in Lake Michigan with an 18' Starcraft aluminum and we were fine. Even in eight foot swells. Caution and experience, is the key.
