Ever thought about rebuilding the carb yourself? It's really not that complicated for a q-jet and you can pick up a kit online for around $16. I rebuilt mine and I'm no marine mechanic but I have rebuilt auto carbs in the past. Marine carbs are not cheap, not even the rebuilt ones. Just a thought.

I have rebuilt my Marine carb and it was absolutely easy. And I am but a mere cadet.
