Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Carolina Machine Engines....I was referred to them by a friend who's company uses their stuff in SC....I have a knock in my 4.3 and they sell reman "block assemblies" for only $540 with a 6 month warranty...I had my heads redone already....they also quoted me installing the cam and timing components which would make it like a standard "short block" for a total of $787....their website is: http://www.cmengines.com/'

Any opinions?

Thanks,
John

Yeah, that's basically why I'm asking....seems cheap....they said they use good components too, Federal Mogul moly, melling, etc....digging around the 'net I've found they are pretty popular for "race" engines...

well, isn't this a coincidence. CME is owned by my cousin. they have a fantastic, following in the racing engines, if you google carolina maching engines, there are post about the many racing engine they built.

i would not be afraid of any product the produce. he's been doing this since high school, early 60's and started CMC in 1984.

Tash,

Yeah, it seems like a decent company....knowledgeable on the phone as well....they even beat Rapido by a few hundred dollars and the build seems to be quite similar to theirs....lot of the same parts....surprised I haven't found anyone yet that's tried them on the site...

Thanks...
