I have a 1984 Johnson 35 HP. The problem I am having with the remote control is that whenever I shift from forward or reverse to neutral the throttle lever on top pops up, and I have to push it back in place to get going again. I have had it apart and replaced a couple parts, but still haven't been able to fix this issue. Here is the diagram to my remote control. The parts that I have replaced are the CAM , Shift lockout (#20 on the diagram) and LEVER, Shift lockout (#67 on the diagram).

I can take pictures of anything you would like if that would help, or even a video of it popping up.

Thank You.

Re: Remote control problems

You haven't got your throttle cable adjusted properly back on the mtr.

Re: Remote control problems

boobie, I looked at that, i disconnected the throttle cable from the motor and even disconnected it still pops out. I have moved the small wheel that adjusts the throttle cable at the motor all the way back and forward and it does not make any difference.

I have done this with both the cables on the right and left of the motor. Is this what you were talking about?

Re: Remote control problems

oh wow, no actually, they aren't on the control box. That's weird.

This would probably solve my problem?
