remote control wireing diagram for a johnson outboard

i bought a 140 ho johnson ob. came with the remote also..i know where the engine plugs in.. there is also a short wire that has gray/purple/black wires with little ring connectors on them.there are 2 more wires looks there comming up from the engine harness a white and a beige with a slightly darker brown stripe. hard to explain. my manual hasent got wire diagram for remotes. just how to tear them apart...is there a online place where i can find this diagram> this is a 1985

Grey is the tach signal, purple is accessory +12VDC, black is ground. It sounds like the wairing harness for the tachometer. The other two wires (white and beige) may be the PTT trim angle signal, if you have this sensor. Look on the inside of the transom bracket and see if there is anything there that moves when the motor is tilted.
