What's the model number with trim?

My main question is, is the 4500 series merc side mount remote control with trim a direct replacement for the one pictured in the thread above?

I doubt it, the 4000 series remote controls use GenII shift cables, the cable ends are different at the shifter.

If that's the case, will changing the cables to gen 2 do the trick. Is the motor end of the cables the same or does the shift plate need to be changed as well?
