Remote Start Switch

1995 4.3LX Merc SN 0F436164

I want to use a remote start switch to check compression. I found the following thread which was really helpful:

My engine has an electric fuel pump.

I've tried chasing the wiring diagram in the Merc manual and it looks like the fuel pump is only powered when the keyed ignition switch is used.

When the starter is energized w/ a remote switch connected to the starter, will the fuel pump operate? I don't want it to.

I could just disconnect the wires going to the fuel pump, but I'm in the school of not touching stuff that I don't need to, cause that Murphy guy is always watching.

Ayuh,......... It sure Will........

Unplugging the Fuel Pump itself will be the Easiest way to achieve what you want.........
