Remote Tilt Switch Installation

I have been tasked to make a few repairs and alterations to a fellow boater's '85 Wellcraft American 190 with the 470 in front of an Alfa One.

I intend to install a remote tilt switch in the aft/port gunnel to allow lowering of the drive after his trailer is parked.

The existing configuration consist of the two solenoid pump unit and two helm mounted rocker switches.

I would appreciate any wiring suggestions and recommendation of selecting a switch.

I intend to wire directly to the solenoids but cannot decide if I will need a SPDT, momentary, center off switch or a DPDT, momentary, center off switch. (I see a SPDT type here at iBoats).

Thanks to all that respond.

SPDT/m/co should do it, with + 12V to the center terminal. One wire to the solenoid terminal with the small blue/white wire (up), the other to the terminal with the small green/white wire (down).

Those switches are already available from Merc with the proper plugs on the harness to just plug in and go. The are water proof and designed for the job.
