Does anyone know how to remove a 3.3 Johnson outboard prop? I want to look at the impeller to see If its damaged. There's prop pullers online for like 100 but I really don't want to spend that much. I heard you can use a c clamp, also how does the puller hook to the prop to remove it?

at the end of prop is a cotter,
you need to pull it out
after spray some wd40 around prop to penetrate shaft and try to pull out the prop

Ok thanks the wd 40 worked and I was able to take the prop and impeller off (however the little metal rod was bent, looks purposely so I had to hammer it straight to get it out and it broke) but the impeller looked pretty good, there was only one little chip off a fin so I am not sure why I am not getting flow at low speed. However I did take off the tell tale hose at the top of the engine and blew through it while my finger was over the metal pipe going to the impeller and it wasn't air tight? I thought it would have been so you think there could be a leak at the pipe connection to where the water flows into the engine?
