I think the answer is NO, but I thought I'd ask. if i undid the 8 nuts holding the housing to the powerhead (or vice versa), can the house fall away and the power hear stay up, or is the housing all that is holding the powerhead up?
Just trying to avoid hoisting the powerhead (don't have a hoist) if there is a work around (like supporting the weight of the powerhead and dropping the housing instead).

Thanks.

It would be nice to know what motor.

Generally, the upper and lower motor mounts hold the midsection to the transom clamp. The gearcase and powerhead bolt to the midsection.

If you unbolt the gearcase, the driveshaft will come with it.
