Is there a trick to removing the trim hoses on the inside of the transom plate on an OMC Cobra? I thought I got away with an overheat- and I pretty much did, but it turns out it melted a pin hole through a trim line...
I've already removed a lot of stuff in the way- some of the interior so I can get back in there, but I can still only barely get a finger on the fitting way back in there. It wouldn't be easy to get a wrench on this thing if it was on the bench.
I have contemplated bending it straight chopping it off and sliding a deep socket over it, but then how do I get the new one on and tight?
PLEASE please don't say step 1) Remove outdrive and engine... I just finally got the shifting working right!!!!
Would love to hear from anyone who has sucessfully changed one of these... or someone who wants to buy a boat. Thanks
