I have a mercruiser 305ci - 1995. Got cover off, but plastic spacer seems to be real tight. Any suggestions in getting thermostat out?

You have to get the spacer out first. If it breaks, replace it.

screw driver blade where plastic spacer meets the thermostat usually can break it loose.

WD-40 and some heat. Remember, if at first you don't succeed get a bigger hammer.

He didn't post an email address, just different places to find one.

Get your engines serial number and find your local Merc dealer there are 3 different housing designs for that engine. they are not an aftermarket part and they aren't expensive.
