I have a 2005 Volvo 5.0 gxi. I removed my multifunction Faria gauges yesterday for repair (tach, temp and oil in one. Mph, fuel and volts in the other). I went to start the boat today and the fuel pump is totally dead. I checked the breakers including the ones by the battery selector, checked for wires I might have knocked loose, checked the only fuse I saw in the wiring under there, etc. and found nothing. I didn't have a flashlight, but I don't think I missed anything. The only thing I thought of after I left was that a couple of the disconnected wires from the gauges could have touched each other, but still doesn't explain why no breakers/fuses were blown. Obviously the power for the pump doesn't run through the gauges, but is it possible that not having the gauges wired up could prevent the power from going to the fuel pump? It seems unlikely to me.
