I am haveing a problem removeing the powerhead and the lower unit on my 1966 3.3 Merc.
I have removed all the nuts and bolts I can see , 6 for the powerhead and the two for the lower unit, is there any more needed, or could it be that the shaft is frozen the the crank?
I just picked this motor up and it seems to be in great shape ,sure the "other guy" let it sit for some years and was put up wet, still had gas in the carb and all the nuts and bolts have long ago rusted, but I want to restore this one . I know I need a new water pump impeller but I need to remove the lower unit to do this ,plus it seems to not shift , seems like it is stuck somewhere in the lower unit also.
