Hello, I came across this site awhile back and have been reading alot of post specifically about boat restoration which I am in the midst of replacing the stringers and rotted transom. My boat is a 1985 galaxie 15' runabout with a omc stringer drive (yeah, I know first boat buyer, LOL). I am at a standstill right now as the only thing left is to pull the 2.5L OMC engine. I have removed all the outdrive as according to the Clymers manual I have, as well as all the attachments to the engine. My question now comes down to where do I attach the lifting chain? I am renting a cherry picker to hoist the engine and I want to do it safely. I see a engine lift bracket in the rear of the engine I could possibly hook onto but don't know where in the front of the engine I can attach the other end. Right now I have one end of the chain hooked onto the engine lift bracket in the rear and the the other end secured around the front trim bracket which holds up the front engine. If anyone has a better idea it would be greatly appreciated.
