i have a sea king 4 made by chrysler.
model#VMB52004c
ser# 18x21877

the problem:
rebuilt with new piston and rings and now i have no spark. i assume it is something to do with the points, etc. but cannot get the flywheel off. is there an easy way of doing it. i do not see any holes to bolt a puller to. also is there a way to test the magneto, etc to find the problem with spark?

Re: Removing a flywheel

Loosen retaining nut and back it off until the nut covers the end of the crankshaft.
Put large pry bar under flywheel, careful where you put it so as not to damage ignition components.

Pry, and tap the flywheel, then wallup the nut, and hopefully it will pop off -- without flying into your head.

Re: Removing a flywheel

I would not hit the nut that hard because u are banging the crankshaft into thrust bearings that are in the engine not really a good thing to do with any engine

Re: Removing a flywheel

ok, been working on this for a few days now with no avail. the only place i can pry is inbetween the flywheel and the stator plate. i dont want to put too much force on it in fear of bending or breaking it. can someone please give me some more direction. follow the link to see exactly what i am dealing with
