I need to remove a tranducer that has been epoxied in the bilge of a fiberglas boat. Any tips on how to remove the transducer would be greatly appreciated. Joe

Re: Removing a thru hull transducer

Ive done this before, all you have to do is use a wide chisle or metal handled putty knife and gently tap around the lower edges untill it pops off! Generally they come loos pretty easy as the epoxy doesnt really stick very well to the tranducer! I say generally, as sometimes they are really stuck! Why are you removing it? If its not really in the way and you are just installing another one just clip the wire and epoxy the new one close to the other! I think it will pop loose though! You can then grind or chisle away the remaining epoxy!

Hope this helps!

Hadsbeen
