Hello all i'm looking for some helpful advice here. I have a 60hp Tracker by Mercury that's been giving me some problems when starting. I bought the repair manual and went over the troubleshooting section(fuel sytem). I replaced the fuel filter before I stored it for the winter and yesterday I checked the primer valve resistance as stated in the manual and it checked out ok. My next step is to remove and clean the carbs. My question to all you mechanically inclined boaters is this. If I simply remove the carbs and clean them do I have to make any adjustments to them after reinstalling them? or can I just reinstall them and hook everthing back up the way it came off? I usually have to use the advanced throttle when first starting the motor, but after being on the water and starting it again it will turn right over without the advanced throttle:confused:. Is using the advanced throttle often, bad for the motor?

Re: Removing and cleaning Carbs

Before removing the low speed needles screw them in lighty to check the settings and put them back to it after blowing them out, I would buy gasket sets and inlet needles for them and check the float height
