Why not just put it in the water where you can't see it and go have fun?

There are lots of posts on this topic. Bottom line, it's a lot of hard dirty dangerous work for a cosmetic issue that only the fish see. If it bothers you that much, paint over it.

I would NOT! put kids on sanding detail. If you must remove, take it to a good body shop near you!!!

Suggestions:
-leave it on and live with it
-have it soda blasted it off and apply a proper barrier coat IN WHITE. It won't be super shiny like fiberglass but you shouldn't have any future hull problems, and it'll be white.

I hope that doesn't mean that you think anti-fouling paint is only for saltwater?! ANY boat that is going to be slipped in the water should have it. Now if you are trailering yours, I can understand why you want it gone.
But also remember, if scuffed properly when painted, it may take even more effort to shine up the bottom of your hull, once thew paint is removed.
Sometimes this is more trouble than it's worth.
