...removing a bearing buddy
How is it done?

I took the wheel off but can't see how to get the BB out of the way, bearing feels rough (bumpy) when hand spun.

The other side, I can pull the top of the wheel out 1/4 inch, not good eh?

I think I'll just order new hubs w/ bearings etc.

take a hammer and knock it while spinning it, or use a block of wood and whack it while spinning kind of down and toward you itll come!

Just don't whack it too hard or you may bend it enough to get it out of round. There are a few posts floating around about bearing buddies falling off; most likely due to the buddy being out of spec for whatever reason.

I have a rubber mallet that I use to tap the buddy back and forth until I can wiggle it out by hand.

I whacked the crap outta them with a BFH,
I'm trying to find new hubs which will get new BB's anyway.

Grease was coming out around the inner O ring seal because the piston was cocked sideways, they're just old junk.

They were full of grease but bearings are still shot.

I took a pipe wrench to mine...gave it 1/2 a turn, and it spun right out. No damage to the BB either. Just treat it nice and it'll be fine.
