Removing entire 275 outdrive/transom shield?

I've pulled my AQ131A engine and have removed the transmission from the 275 drive.

As it turns out I may need to pull the entire drive and transom shield in order to give me some room to do some transom rot repair.

Is there a way to unbolt the transmission shield and whatever else is in the way and then pull the whole unit out aft? I'm hoping to avoid having to start taking the drive itself apart.

Thanks.

I'm not a volvo guru but transom repair from rot needs everthing removed from the transom. Do not try to get bt easy, it may work for a while but it will come back and bit later.

Your best bet is to remove the whole thing.
Getting at the bottom bolts that hold the shied in place can be hard.
The top screws that hold the down tube can be fun too.

Well, I would agree with that except I haven't scoped out the full extent of the rot yet. So far, all I've found is a section of the floor itself (not the stringers yet) and a 3" high section right around the engine bay drain. I've gotten advice on removing the full drive (engine's already out) and I think I can manage it, but if the rot is only this very small part around the drain and I can grind it all away leaving only good wood, I know I can make it stronger than it was before with wood and epoxy.

But, on the other hand, I'm rarely that lucky so I'll keep the drive removal instructions handy...
