I need to remove the inner and outer gimble housing (Mercruiser) from my boat so I can replace the transom. I have the outdrive off and now I need to remove the rest of the outdrive components. Is there a certain order of steps to follow to get everything out? It looks like the bellows need to be removed and then unbolt it from the inside. Is this correct or is there more to it? Thanks, Steven

Don,

It's a 5.0LX in a 1993 Sea Ray 200BR. Thanks, Steven

Remove the steering assembly, the exaust Y pipe, the 2 hyd lines from the pump,
trim limit wires.
And you always remove the outdrive first, and install it last

Manual #14 covers the transom shield and outdrive, http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=251571

One question. Why are you removing the transom shield? Looks like you need a bellows, gimbal bearing and ujoints But why pull the engine and transom shield?

Don,

The transom is rotten and needs to be repaired. Thanks, Steven
