I have a '84 Johnson 150 hp motor. I need to remove the lower unit.
I understand all of the bolt locations to remove the lower unit, but I'm not clear on how to remove the shift linkage under the lower carb.
Is the only place that the rod needs to be disconnected is under the carb? Or is there another step to diconnecting this rod?
Will the lower unit come off, if I remove the 4 bolts from cavitation plate, and the 2 at the trim tab, and disconnect the shift linkage rod under the lower carb?

Hi Ford
It sounds to me like you know the drill. There is ether a screw or a pin retaining the shift rod. Shift to reverse before trying to remove the retainer. Be carefull not to bend the shift rod on the way out. If you need more help just ask.

alcan,
Thanks for your help, the linkage rod was quite a chore to get to, but really had no real problems.
