removing lower unit

MAYBE SOME ONE CAN HELP ME I AM TRYING TO REMOVE MY LOWER UNIT ON MY 1973 50 hp(model no 50373r). i have removed the bolt for the shift rod and got all the bolts out but i still cant get it to pop loose. is there a clip or pin i am missing that is keeping it from coming loose andy help i would appreciate it thank you

Did you remove the bolt from under the trim tab?.....the trim tab needs to be removed (take note or mark its position first) before you can access it properly.....there are 5 bolts in total holding the lower unit on. If you have all the bolts and it still wont budge, the top of the driveshaft is probably stuck (corroded) in the crankshaft splines, you will have to try some gentle persuasion.
