Removing Oil Injection

I have a 1985 Suzuki DT55 that I am going to remove the oil injection system from tomorrow. I have studied the manual quite a bit and come to the conclusion that I can do this in several different ways.

1) I can leave most of the system in place and just plug up the input and output of the oil pump and disconnect all linkage and wiring so that it won't alarm.

2) I can do the above plus pull off the oil lines going to each cylinder and somehow plug the cylinder oil intakes.

3) I could completely remove the pump if I could find a way to close off the hole that will be left open.

4) Someone out there may have a better way.

Does anyone have any experience and/or advice on any of the above? Thanks for the help.

Re: Removing Oil Injection

why remove it? just service it and make sure to clean system and test alarms.
If you feel you just need to then do a forum search for it and read what all people have written. Make sure the pump does not oil the bearings directly, just mixes oil into the fuel.

You will need to remove the pump drive shaft from what I have seen or you will end up hurting your crankshaft from lack of lubrication at the gear that drives the pump.

Re: Removing Oil Injection

Take off the oil pump, you will see the gear that makes the pump work, remove it and bolt the pump back on in its' place .... plug the pipe coming out the oil reservoir or remove it completely if you want, bypass the sensors and there you go .....
