New member here, also first time boat owner. I just got an 88 capri 2150 it has about a half a tank of at least 2 year old fuel. I was wondering if there was a "easy" way of pumping the fuel out or do i just get an old " long "hose and suck...............?

Also is there anything i need to do to the tank after its empty?

I dont remember the guys name but he gave a number for bayliner he called to request a manuel and they sent him one for free just wanted to say thanks there sending me one free. Wonderful customer service.....Rare.

Re: removing old fuel

Hey Matt - welcome to iboats, a.k.a. the zoo.
There are a few fuel safe systems that you can use to get rid of that old gas.
ACE has one that attaches to the end of a drill. The directions recommend that you keep the drill motor as far away from the tank itself ( no brainer ) and use fuel safe lines. I think the pump was relatively cheap ( 15 bucks or so ) but the fuel line was something like $1.20 - $1.50 a foot.
Of course that was their recommendation but you might get by using a piece of old garden hose. But I didn't say that.
Take a look around and see what you can come up with. I'll scrounge around later and see if I can come up with the part number off the one I have. Can't find it on their website - might be discontinued due to explosive issues ?????
