 the previse owner of my boat painted the non skid deck and now the paint is cracking and peeling. is any one here knowledgeable in what is called media blasting and would this be an afective way of removing the paint without doing damage to the non skid surface. heard that the corn cob grit is best for fiberglass.

Tell ya what I'd try first, screenbuzz. I'd take it to the car wash and hit it with high pressure water an' see if that'll knock most of the flaking paint off. Then ya won't have to worry about the media blasting screwing up your non-skid.
Keep us posted an'...

c/6

Hooty

thanks Hooty but i have tried to presure wash the paint off but only removed the flacky parts. what do you think of trying wet sanding to remove it before i decide on the media blasting. i can rent the attachment for my presure washer from my local rent all supplyer for 20.00 a day. sure beats the 90.00 a day thay want for the sandblaster. will keep you posted on the results.
