Removing & Replacing bad fiber glass in my engine box?

In addition to my general stringer inquiries, this is a very specific problem.
the fiberglass in my engine box area appears to be separating from the original glass below.

It will likely be a pain to reach all of the areas under the engine, but I going to try.
My guess is I'll use a dremel multimax with a plunge tool to cut the fiberglass at the joint where the box meets the hull. I think I'll be able to easily pull the glass from the hull, and a bit tougher from the box.

Assuming I'm successful getting most if not all this bad stuff out, I don't know what I'll do next to assure what I put back stays firmly in place. the engine box can be rather oily.

Do I sand the existing glass?
What chemicals will help clean the oily surfaces?
Is there a recommended fiberglass matt and compounds?
How far should it extend onto the hull, or up the engine box structure?

Likely to be using a camera to get to tough areas and tools on a stick.

Experienced advice is highly sought!

Thanks - Andy

Pull the drive, then pull the motor

You need to have the motor out of the hull anyway to properly repair the hull anyway

Somehow I knew somebody was going to give me a dose of reality!!!
you will find that you have a lot of work.

make sure that you build a cradle to hold the hull shape
