This is my first post. Thanks for having me.

I'm prepping for a paint/rebuild job on my 17 ft. skiff. The rub rail is mounted with 55 small rivets. I have taken a few out by cutting off the head of the rivet with my dremell, but I would love to know what ya'll would do in a similar job. I have access to both sides of the rivets. Thank you for your time.

Center punch them, then drill them out. A lot quicker than cutting the heads off.

Drill them out using a TiN (the yellow/gold coated) drill bit the same diameter as the rivet hole. It's easiest to go from the side that looks like a little metal donut, that way the drill centers itself.

Wear safety goggles.

I agree, drill them out with a bit the same size as the hole the rivet is in. Should be a very easy and quick job.
