I am removing my outdrive using the instructions from the workshop manual.
I got the props off, no problem.
I disconnected the shift cable, no problem.
I am now attempting to disconnect the steering pin from the upper gear head.
Instructions say
Remove the 2 screws holding the steering pin to the upper gear head, no problem.
Using 2 6mm screws 30mm or longer, install into the threaded holes of the steering pin. As the screws are turned in, the steering pin will be forced out.
My trouble is that it appears that the 6mm screws require a courser thread than the 1.00 thread which is commonly available on 6mm bolts.
Can anybody help me source the m6 x 1.25 screws required for this task?
Or offer any suggestions on an alternative?
Thanks in advance
Dave
