Removing the control handle?

My uphulstery guy is reuphulstering the whole boat, but the only thing we cant get done is the one panel that has the control handle on it. He had tried removing the 4 screws on the base of it but that didnt do it. Anyone have a chart of how this thing disassembles? <br /><br />Its a side mount control from a '89 mercruiser 5.0. Any help is appreciated

you need to tell the control and model and year<br /><br />there are a lot<br /><br />Commander 3000 for example<br /><br /><br />tommays

Where would i find that, is it on the control handle itself? If i cant find it i'll post a picture of it around 2PM...<br /><br />Thanks

Mneumonic, The pushbotton for throttle only pops out(be gentle with ascrewdriver). There is a screw fastener under it for removal fo the handle. The rest will then come out
