Hey Guys...

Finally got my engine going this year after doing some alpha one service. Merc 165. Anyway after a good year last year with no issues getting back to idle all of the sudden my control cable for the carb has 1/4 inch slack in it...enough to not allow the carb to return to idle. I tried to move the barrel back away from the mounting point but getting limited success.

Aside from replacing the cable... Any ideas to take up the slack?

Thanks john

Ayuh,.... If it can't be adjusted to hold tension on the carb's idle adjustment screw, I guess it's just plain ole worn out,.....

yeah I hear you. I was also wondering if there are any adjustments in the back of a mercury helm control (mine seems like a hybrid of some sort but it looks like a 3000) I just don't get how I had no problems last year and all of the sudden I am facing a cable that has a lot of slack. I certainly didn't stretch it out.
