Removing wire from coil

Have a 1990 v-200 2.4L. I'm was trying to remove the spark plug wires from the coil. They don't seem to twist or pull off, I did not pull back the rubber boot that connects to the coil, but maybe I would of figured it out. I want to test the wires and coils. Any help on removing those?

Any coil that I have been around, the spark plug wire just pulls out!! Slide boot back, someone may have used a sealing material on them to help keep moisture out!
