How often should a person repack bearings. The trailor is pulled to the lake about 4 or 5 times a month about 100 miles round trip.

A trial approach may work. You could check them after six months and see their condition. If they need repacking, which I doubt if your rear seals and axle cups are in good condition, you could go ahead and do it. If they are fine, you could look again in six months, and then perhaps establish a yearly schedule of repacking or even longer.

BassMan31, Repack the bearings with boat trailer wheel bearing grease (water resistant). Put the same grease into a standard grease gun, install bearing buddies and pump them up. Every month or so, hit it with the grease gun. Never need to repack them again!

i dont know about never having to repack them again they where not made to stop mantinace and you should inspect your bearing and repack them every season or so. grease breaks down just like oil does and even know this may seem like a sealed unit it really is not we all know what a hot hub in cool water does.

Even auto wheel bearings should be re-packed, usually whenever brake shoe/pad replacement is performed.
