repainting a starcraft?

Hi all.
New here, been reading a little and also downloaded a brochure for my boat which was a giant help.
Thank you for that!

I recently bought a 1995 Starcraft Tournament Fish 180.
I really like it, it is the perfect combination of big water boat and smaller lake boat.
I have a 90 Merc on it which I would like to upgrade in a couple years. Maybe the 120 range as the boat is rated for 150.

Anyway, The outside is in decent condition. It has the typical dock rash for a boat it's age. The decals are mostly intact thought they are chipping and the paint is in less than stellar condition but not at all terrible.

What does it take to repaint a boat like this? Are replacement decals available? I really like the current decals and I would like to replace with the same. Anyone know what it can cost to have someone repaint it? roughly of course?
Do most automotive places also do boats?

Anyone who has seen pics of boats knows how well the defects are hid in photos like this.

I shopped around before I decided to repaint myself. All of the estimates I received were in the $1500 to $2000 range. Most of the cost is tied up in unrigging the boat and prep work. that said you could probably save quite a few bucks by removing the motor, sanding, and taping off everything.

Yeah, kinda figured doing it myself was going to be the only option.
Is there a good source for original decals?

Thanks for the reply!
