Hello again...

You guys have always been so helpful I am hoping o use your knowledge base once again.

I am repainting my 1979 johnson 115. What paint should I use, and where can I get it? Also, where can I find new OMC or OEM decals that will match the motor?

Thanks everyone! :)

Paint in an aerosol can be purchased at any BRP dealer that sells Johnson / Evinrude parts.
I also saw it at West Marine last time I was there. Decals can be purchased on ebay, I bought a set of 90 hp decals for my 1988 110 Johnson, since the boat is rated for 90 hp and I didnt want to advertise that I was 20 hp over powered if you know what I mean.
The ebay store that I bought from is nana's decals and I was very pleased with the product and service. $61.00 for a complete set for your motor.

Any Bombardier dealer should be able to get you Johnson white (1972-1980) in a spray can. Part 771233.

What about Johnson green for the early 1950 motors?

Mine is blue but I used Dupli Color from Auto Zone, they had a blue that matched almost perfectly, I finishd it wiht an actual automitive clear and it looks great.

I stripped mine down to metal and started over though, if you are just repainting you only need to scuff the paint with 400, just scuff, alot of new painters think you need to remove the paint and you don't as long as it the original paint is on good.

If you do run into bare metal you need to use etching primer, again Auto Zone, or new paint won't stick.
