I need to replace the wood backing for the side/rear cushions (coaming pads???) in the open bow area. I am not sure how to remove the cushions to do the repairs. Removing the seat cushions reveal some brackets at the bottom of the side cushion that are screwed to the side of the boat. Could someone please advise me what other fasteners exist and how those are accessed to allow me to remove the cushions?

When i did my did cushion on my wellcraft, it wasnt in the bow in was next them the co-pilots seat, the plywood had finally rotted away, and to get the panel off the boat i have to unscrew it from behind the fiberglass,

In my case the were attached by a bolt and a "tee nut" driven into the plywood to keep the bolt tight. heres link to them

I hope that helps some what, they are used in the bow of my boat as well.

Thanks for the help. I can see it might be difficult to get to the backside of the fiberglass for the bow side cushions. How did you accurately position the t-bolts in the new wood to be sure they lined up correctly when you re-installed?

I took off the old piece, then traced it and cut it out of a new piece of plywood ( mine was rotted, upholstery was fine though) then i held it up to the holes in the fiberglass and made marks to drill the holes
