Repairing a Canvas Cover...

I have a water repellent canvas cover for my 14' aluminum starcraft that has a big tear in it the shape of a cross about 10 inches x 10 inches. Does anyone know the easiest way to repair this? I'm not good at sewing and I was wondering if there is a certain patch kit available that I don't know about, or some other easy remedy? Thanks.

Howdy Raymo.<br /><br />I have had lousy luck with glue-on canvas repair kits unless I sew a double seam around the edges of the patch with a regular sewing machine and 8lb Spiderwire for thread.<br /><br />Easiest is to take it to an upholsterer and have him/her fix it.<br /><br />Good luck.

Raymo,<br /><br />I suggest you call a few local fabric stores and ask if they have anyone who can do contract sewing...
