I recently purchased a 1984 Ozark tri hull. This is my first boat. It has the back to back seats in it.The metal hinges broke on three of them the first use. One was already broke. What is the purpose of the hinged seats is it to use the storage under seats? If so it looks like to repair them by solidly connecting them would be better. or posiably with a heavier hinge, all of the wood and upolstry is exellent shape.

I saw your post and thought I would give you a hand. The Ozark boats were a very well built boat but they bought their seats from other companies. The hinges were there to allow you to lay the seats down to make a lounge bed. You could replace them with heavier hinges or take some L brackets and fasten the seats together to make them rigid.

Gordon,
Don't know about plans. I would simply visit the nearest marina/shop in your area that has some of these seats for sale. Take a tape measure with you, take some measurements, then build your own. Oh yeah, wooden seats, backs covered with outdoor furniture cushions are just as comfortable and functional, and easier to clean, than those fully upholstered with marine vinyl. Just an observation.

Tim,
Thanks for the cushion idea!
Marina's are few and far between around here. The nearest is 1 1/2-2 hrs. away, and very poorly stocked. They would have to order the seats.
I'm sure I can figure something out pretty easily though.
