I have a DuPont ? Composite hull.

How can I repair chips and/or gouges? I have two little chunks/chips near the bow that I'd like to fill in.

Well below the gel. In one, I can see some fibers/sheet material.

Any suggestions?

I would ask the dudes in the resto forum. Someone will chime in... Any pics?

What is the composit made of?

The darker one is where I can see the composite or whatever is below the gel/top white later.

I only know the hull is DuPont Composite.

If needed, I will head over to the resto forum.

Dupont composite seems to stem from the fact that Dupont owns the name Kevlar

The quick repair would be to use Marinetex. The "correct" way would be to fill the void with marine epoxy then finish with gelcoat.

I have the original Wellcraft manual and Wellcraft promo guides. In all cases, it is touted as "DuPont Composite" or "DuPont Composite from the aerospace industry".

I don't think it is Kevlar by name, but it could have a lineage in common with Kevlar. I remember reading about various composites in boat hulls and while Kevlar was used, there are numerous composites.

First you will need to make sure the area inside the chip is dry dry dry. Let it sit for a few days out of the water and use a heat gun to be sure it is dry. If not dry it will blister and separate after any repair.

Other then epoxy and gel coat;
Marine Tex is a good way to patch chips like that. It comes in white.

or get some West Systems Epoxy and high density filler to mix with it.
Then you could probably use some white epoxy spray paint to cover that.
