I have a portable red colored omc duratank that leaks fuel at the top of the black fitting for the fuel line connection. It has a hair line crack in it. All of the plastic weld epoxy products such as blue magic, j b weld, chem tex, ect say works on all plastics except polyester and polypropeleyne or poly ethelene. What kind of plastic is this part made of ? How can I repair it?

The tank is Cross Linked PolyEthylene. Nothing will stick to it.

It is a thermoplastic and will melt. Welding the plastic with heat is the only thing that will work.
Heat and fuel is a very bad combination. Save yourself the frustration and just replace the tank.

Instead of wasting 20 hour trying to fix the tank, Get a part time job and use the money to buy the new tank.
Same amount of hours used with much better results.

Thermoplastics cannot be repaired to original strength, once formed it loses strength when repaired....not good for fuel issues !!

cut it in half and make a decorative planter for your porch.....
Sell it on ebay as a lighting bug holder....
fill it with pea gravel and now you have a skiff anchor....
but please dont try to fix it...BOOM!!
