I have a 97 Stratus 201 PE bass boat. The floor had a few soft spots and when I removed the carpet the wood was real bad. I cut out all the bad wood and need to install the new piece of wood. I have a support on the left side but the right side support is about 4 inches to the right. No stringers run across it's a open space. How do I support the new plywood being installed on the right side? Thanks

The proper way is to remove all the wood and replace it.

It looks like a second stringer used to be up against the tabbing that appears near the bottom of that pic. It would have framed the other side of your ski locker like the remaining one does.
