Repalcing ignition wires

Hey all,

I went to replace a set of wires on my 54 Scott Atwater outboard. I removed the old wires (they were stranded core wires wrapped around the coil posts) After cutting the new Autozone wire to length I stripped the outer cover and noticed, there are no strands internally. After review, this wire is a carbon fiber core spark wire. How do I connect, or can I? Do I need to find stranded core wire?

Ditch the Autozone wires...get your $$ back if you can. You need solid wire core wires available at almost any small engine shop.
