Replace daul lever control with single lever

Just picked up a 63 Johnson 28hp. My boat currently has a 96 Evinrude with single lever control. Can I use the single lever control on the 63 if I get the 3300 serial cables and correct attachment kit? Don’t know if the throw for F/R dimension changed. Thanks

I would say you need to do a complete evaluation of this 60 year old motor before you spend any money on it.

Racerone, I've already checked it out. Runs great, previous owners bought new and they had regular service at dealer. Bought from son that showed me the service records his dad kept. Last service was 2011, then put in shed and never run again till I fired it up last weekend. 110 on each cylinder and all new under flywheel, carb, fuel pump rebuilt in 2011. I'm waiting for new impeller and to see if I can use single lever control on it.
